Apple Blondies

Ingredients

  • 0.5 cup butter, melted
  • 1 brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1.5 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1.25 cup all purpose flour
  • 0.25 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1 large apple, cut into 1/4" chunks (peeled if preferred)

Steps

  1. Pre heat the oven to 350F
  2. In a large bowl, add the brown sugar and melted butter. Vigorously stir until combined. Then add egg and vanilla extract and mix until combined.
  3. Slowly mix in flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until everything is well combined.
  4. In an 8x8 inch square pan lined with parchment paper, pour batter into center and gently smooth out with a rubber spatula until evenly distributed and touching all sides of pan.
  5. Pour apple chunks evenly on top of the batter. Using the rubber spatula, press the topping down into the batter (the chunks should still be visible)
  6. Bake into the center of the oven until a toothpick inserted comes out clean, about 25-30 minutes.
  7. Let cool 5 minutes. Cut into squares.
